The mysteries in the night sky

On warm nights like the ones we’ve been having, Luc loves to sit at the end of our driveway and watch the sky for stars.

It is something his sister taught him to do. He likes to star gaze with her, but he’s content to be alone as well.

He’ll take out a blanket and pillow sometimes. And he’ll watch the sky turn blue to black. If we ask him what he’s doing, he’ll point up at the sky.

I’m not sure what he thinks about. His favorite movies are the Star Wars series. He can watch those over and over, and would if we let him. I wonder if he’s looking up in the sky for an X-Wing fighter or a transport carrying Yoda and some clone troopers.

How plain our life and house must seem compared to those adventures. When you share a first name with Luke Skywalker, what do you see in the night sky?

Does he imagine any other these things? Or do the stars hold some other charm for him? We watch him through the front window and ponder these questions.
